Sports Update For Thursday, October 3rd, 2019; Daniel and West-Oak Begin Conference play tomorrow night

(Seneca, SC)—————The 4-0 Daniel Lions will begin conference play tomorrow night against 4-1 Palmetto at home at Singleton Field.

Daniel Coach Jeff Fruster expects a tough game tomorrow night and expects a tough road ahead for the Lions in Region 1-AAAA.

“I think Doug (Shaw, Palmetto Head Coach) has done a great job with those guys this year,” says Coach Fruster. “You tailor your pre-region schedule the way you do to be able to face some tough opponents so when you are asked to do it in the region, it doesn’t come as a shock or a surprise.”

“This is a tough region and we knew it coming into the region last year and it has always been a tough region,” continues Coach Fruster. ”So, it is going to take everything we got to be able to try to be successful in this region race.”

The West-Oak Warriors will head into Region 1-AAA play tomorrow night with a 1-4 record as they hit the road to play 2-3 Pendleton at Cunningham Stadium.

West-Oak Head Coach Tim Carson has learned a lot about his team in the non-conference portion of the schedule as they get ready for conference play.

“Record wise, we got one win out of it but the big thing I can take out of it is our kids are learning to be able to play a full game,” says Coach Carson. “Our kids are working hard and being more competitive this year and that is a big goal for us.”
