Sports Update For Tuesday, August 27th, 2019; #1 Clemson Begins Defense Of National Championship Thursday Night Against Georgia Tech

(Seneca, SC)—-#1 Clemson will begin defense of their National Championship Thursday night in Death Valley as they host Georgia Tech with kickoff set for 8pm. And all eyes will be on Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence as he attempts to lead Clemson to back-to-back titles.

Lawrence said that even with all the success and one year removed from being a freshman stepping on the Clemson campus one year ago, he still feels that he is the same person.

“Definetely still the same person,” Lawrence said yesterday. “I think the only thing from success is just having a little more confidence starting the year as opposed to last year having not played any college football yet, so, have a little bit more confidence but still the same person.”

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney said yesterday during his weekly press conference that WR Amari Rogers and LB Bryan Constatin will not play Thursday. Swinney also said that freshman DE Logan Cash has withdrawn from school and the football program.

The South Carolina football team has released its depth chart for Saturday’s game in Charlotte against North Carolina.
