Sports Update For Wednesday, December 18th, 2019; University Of South Carolina Board Of Trustees Approves Sales Of Alcoholic Beverages In Athletic Venues

(Seneca, SC)———-The Board of Trustees of the University of South Carolina approved yesterday the sale of alcoholic beverages in athletic venues beginning January 1st, 2020. On that date, the university will begin selling beer and wine at home football game, home men’s and women’s basketball games and home baseball games. 

The Southeastern Conference rescinded its ban on the sale of alcohol beverages in public areas at home athletics events in its annual meetings in May 2019. 

South Carolina Football coach Will Muschamp also announced yesterday that Paul Jackson has been hired as the new strength and conditioning coach after spending the previous eight years at Ole Miss. 

Furman place kicker Grayson Atkins has been named second team FCS All-American by the Associated Press. 

Atkins was also a second round AP All-American last year.
