Sports Update For Wednesday, July 17th, 2019; Clemson And South Carolina Players Named To Pre-Season Watch Lists
(Seneca, SC)—-Clemson and South Carolina football players have made the watch lists for the 2019 Maxwell Award and the 2019 Bednarik Award.
Among the players on the watch list for the Maxwell Award are South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley, Clemson running back Travis Etienne, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross.
Among the players on the watch list for the Bednarik Award are South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons and Clemson defensive end Xavier Thomas.
Also, Bentley and Lawrence were named to the watch list for the Davey O’Brien Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top quarterback.
Rising sophomore South Carolina golfer Ryan Hall has qualified for the 119th U.S. Amateur, which will take place at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina on August 12th thru August 18th.
Hall qualified recently by earning medalist honors at Willow Creek Golf Club.
