State AG Prosecuting Pickens County Man for Alleged Sexual Exploitation of Minors

Christopher Jon Carman has been apprehended on multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors, as reported by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. The arrest was made by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from investigators from the Attorney General’s Office, also a part of the state’s ICAC Task Force. The investigators were led to Carman following a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

It is stated that Carman was in possession of files containing child sexual abuse material. He was arrested on November 11, 2023, and is facing seven counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense that could lead to up to 10 years of imprisonment for each count. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
