State RIA Approves Oconee Request

The state Rural Infrastructure Authority voted Thursday to add $2.1 million to the fund to help pay for Sewer South Phase Two — the long talked about project to run a line from the Golden Corner Commerce Park to I-85.

In a separate action the RIA approved $100,000 to allow the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority to study whether or not its current structure, as the RIA’s put it, “is the best fit for serving all of Oconee County today and into the future.”…
