Stephens County GA Man Arrested After Alleged Shooting Incident

The Stephen County Sheriff’s Office reported that a suspect, identified as 26-year-old Tristan Grafton, was taken into custody on Monday night after allegedly firing gunshots at deputies in the afternoon. The incident reportedly began when Grafton had a dispute with his neighbors on Sunday night. He returned to the victim’s house on Monday and allegedly fired shots, prompting the deputies’ response. Upon their arrival, Grafton allegedly began shooting again, hitting a patrol car but not injuring anyone. He then fled the scene. Later in the evening, law enforcement from multiple agencies responded to a tip about Grafton’s location. They surrounded the residence and persuaded Grafton to surrender peacefully. He is currently facing three counts of aggravated assault against a police officer, with the possibility of additional charges.
