Still Time for Old Fashion Christmas Pictures at Lunney

Did the holidays come and go this year?  Did you forget to make and send those yearly Christmas cards? Well, Seneca’s Lunney House Museum is your answer.  There is still time to have your picture taken in an old fashion Christmas setting at the museum in downtown Seneca.  Lunney House Museum curator and director Dr. John Martin tells how the aw inspiring setting took shape this year.  “I was sketching the Christmas design for the house and I thought of an old fashion Christmas and then Tony Mize and his workers came up and said you know we got a sleigh here in storage, we ought to dress this up.  So, they took it and painted it and everything, put it on the lawn, put lights on it and it has been a great success.  I think it is going to have to be an annual thing.” Dr. Martin encourages families to plan ahead for next year’s Christmas or make lasting memories of this year.  “It will be open up until New Year’s Eve probably about 5pm.  It will make a great picture for this year or for a card next year or for just a family photo album.”  Tours of the Lunney House Museum are also available, says Dr. Martin. “It is rewarding to see people look at Christmas. When they come in the house, they have that aw struck look because the first thing they see is the big tree and the dolls, the chair, the stick horse and the packages underneath.” Learn more about the historic museum at www.lunneyhousemuseum.org and to schedule a tour, call Dr. Martin at 864-710-7494.
