Store Front Demolished After Car Crashed Through Wall

No one was hurt when a driver attempting to parallel park on Ram Cat Alley accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and backed through the front wall of the newly opened First Chapter books.

The late model Mercedes sedan was towed away from the historic building, which has been owned by Seneca’s Mayor Dan Alexander since about 1979. Mayor Dan said that is the location of the original meat and fish market that got Ram Cat Alley it’s name. He also said he is thankful no one was injured…

The structural integrity of the building was not compromised, according to inspectors at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, instead of Seneca Police since Mayor Alexander owns the building, in order to avoid any conflict of interest. No word from the state agency yet if any citations were issued.
