Summer Reading Programs underway at OCPL

Now that school is out for the summer, many will be enjoying time at the pool or beach. As you lounge about this summer, why not read a book. The Summer Reading Program is underway at the Oconee County Public Library and Branch Services Librarian Blair Hinson invites you to join in the fun. “We are in definite go mode right now in terms of summer reading. We are still signing folks up. We have program for everybody from the little kids in early literacy through grade school, the teens and all the way up through the adults. So, we’ve got just a little bit of something for everyone.” Weekly events are listed on the Oconee County Public Library’s website and Hinson wants residents to have a look. “We just want everybody to take a look at the calendar, see what is there and sign up for summer reading. Whether you get a chance to read the amount of time or whatever for the adults, it is filling in Bingo spots or whatever, but most folks are reading in the summer anyway, so you might as well have a little fun with it. Get a chance to play Bingo, get a chance to come to some of our programs and you might even win a prize this summer.” Find out more on the Oconee County Public Library’s website at www.oconee.lib.sc.us.
