The suspect charged with the murder of two people in Pickens County on Sept. 14 has died at the hospital while in police custody. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office reports that 64-year-old Albert Leon Bowen died in an out-of-state hospital on Wednesday morning while in the custody of the US Marshals Service. Bowen was charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Dickie Stewart and former Pickens High School Football Coach William Isaacs, Jr. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said they had been advised that Bowen had suffered a health issue while he was in the process of being brought back to South Carolina following out-of-state psychological evaluations.
