The USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Distribution Program is in Westminster at the Depot again today. Distribution began at 9:30 am this morning and will continue until all the boxes are gone. There is a limit of one free box of food per vehicle. Oconee First Steps and The City of Westminster partnered together for today’s event.

The US Forestry Service’s Andrew Pickens Ranger District is planning on burning approximately 706 acres today on the Presbyterian Lake and Rifle Range burn units. The burn is located between Rich Mountain Road (FS 744), Cedar Creek Road (FS 744C) and Cassidy Bridge Road. The Cedar Creek Rifle Range will also be closed for the day, officials said.
