The Anderson County coroner’s office is investigating two deaths related to storm damage. A tree fell on a home on W. Whitner Street, resulting in one fatality. Additionally, another person died when a tree landed on a home on Williams Road, near Whiten Road, in the Broadway Fire Community.

Numerous Duke Energy customers in West Union are currently without power. Mayor Linda Oliver is requesting additional assistance for town workers who have been on duty since midnight. Like other areas in Oconee County, West Union has experienced significant tree damage due to Tropical Storm Helene.
