TCTC to host Administrative Professionals Day Conference

Tri-County Technical College will host an Administrative Professionals Day Conference on April 23 from 8:30am to 1pm on its Pendleton Campus.  The theme of the conference is Refuse to be a Victim. The conference is presented in observance of Administrative Professionals Week, and office assistants, executive assistants, office managers, clerks, coordinators, secretaries and supervisors are invited.  According to Sandra Strickland, program manager for the conference, “The Administrative Professionals Day Conference will focus on the single most important step toward ensuring personal safety, which is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. That means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it.”   “Refuse To Be A Victim® is an interactive program designed to offer a variety of options from which you can choose to prepare your own crime prevention and personal safety strategies,” said Strickland.  “This program will teach easy-to-understand methods you can use to increase awareness and prevent criminal confrontation. You will get the tools you need to develop your own personal safety strategy, including information on the following: Workplace Violence, the Psychology of the Criminal Predators, Home Security, Physical Security, Automobile Security, Out-of-Town Travel Security, Technological Security, Self-Defense Physical Training, Parents and Children Security Issues, College Student Security, Senior and Persons with Physical Disabilities, Domestic Violence and Stalking.  Registration for the conference is $79 and includes both breakfast and lunch.  For more information or to register, call (864) 646-1700 or visit www.tctc.edu/learn.
