Teachers ready for Students in SDOC

Administrators, teachers and staff are ready to greet students in the School District of Oconee County for the first day of school. Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Ernestine Williams said several teachers are new to the district this year. “We have 96 new hires, some of those are returning retirees that will be helping us but we have 40 induction teachers, which are first year teachers in the classroom.” No new administrators this year, continues Williams. “We did not have to fill administrative positions, so that has been very excited in HR because that is a major process to getting the best leader for the schools.” To learn more about your student’s school, teacher or principal, visit your student’s school on the School District of Oconee County’s website at www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
