Teen Suspect in Pickens County Murder Case Arrested; Victim ID Released
On Monday, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in connection with Saturday night’s deadly shooting on Sheriff Drive in Central.
Wyatt Anthony Scott Pelfrey
17-year-old Wyatt Anthony Scott Pelfrey was located and arrested by deputies at a home in the Six Mile area shortly after 4:00 PM. Pelfrey was transported to the Pickens County Detention Center where he was charged as an adult with Murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the victim as 22-year-old Wyatt Short of Pendleton. Short died from a gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a homicide.
As Pelfrey has yet to be arraigned, information on his bond is not yet available.
