Teheran pitches Braves to win over Nats

With many regular starters on the bench Sunday, Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Julio Teheran lead his team to a 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals at Turner Field.  The 22-year-old rookie managed to complete six scoreless innings despite allowing the Nationals to put two on with none out in each of the first three innings. Teheran ended up stranding nine Nationals’ runners. While winning five of six against the second-place Nationals over the past two weeks, the Braves have gained a 15 1/2-game lead in the National League East race.
