The Blood Connection In Need Of Donors Daily To Supply Blood To Over 70 Hospitals

(Seneca, SC)———————A few weeks ago, The Blood Connection issued a plea for donors at the peak of cold and flu season since many donors who regularly donate blood could not due to being sick. Even though the peak of flu season has now past, the daily need for blood donors is great, as Monnie Whitson, who is the Community Relations Representative for The Blood Connection here in Oconee County, explained on the Coffee Time program recently.

Monnie Whitson, who is the Community Relations Representative for the Blood Connection in Oconee County, said on the Coffee Time program recently that since cold and flu season has passed, more of the regular donors are making their way in to donate, However, since The Blood Connection supplies blood to 70 or more hospital’s, they need 500 to 600 pints of blood daily, so therefore, they need 500 to 600 people across the Carolinas and Georgia need to donate on a daily basis. Monnie says that here at the Seneca center along, 20 people are needed to donate blood daily.
