The Blood Connection Makes Plea for Donors Due to Low Donor Turnout Because of Illnesses

(Seneca, SC)——————Due to widespread flu and illnesses, The Blood Connection is experience low donor turnout and that could potentially affect the blood inventory that they supply to hospitals. And with that in mind, they are making a plea for help. 

According to Monnie Whitson, Community Relations Representative for Easley and Oconee, The Blood Connection partners with and is the sole supplier of blood for all the hospitals across the Upstate. 500 to 600 pints of blood per day are required per day. In fact, The Blood Connection supplies blood to 75 hospitals in 50 counties across the Carolina’s and Georgia. 

Donation Center hours are 7am until 7pm Monday – Friday and 7am until 5pm Saturday and Sunday. The Seneca donation center is located on Sandifer Boulevard near the Prisma Health- Oconee Memorial Hospital campus and all donation centers are open and operating on a normal schedule.
