Three Officers Injured During Arrest of Suspect

On Sunday night, Seneca police arrested a 39-year-old McAlister Road resident, Brian Christopher Melero, under suspicion of cutting down bamboo trees in the woods off N. Walnut Street and EN 2nd Street. Melero was charged with second-degree assault and battery, resisting arrest with assault on a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following his arrest, Melero was issued with several charges. His total bond amount for all charges is $60,465.00, and he remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.
