Tigers hold off Irish

Rain could not dampen the mood in Clemson Saturday night as a sell out crowd watched the Tigers beat the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, 24-22. “Rain, sleet or snow; Tiger Nation, they show and they were here tonight; great, great job!” Clemson Tigers Head Coach Dabo Swinney made those comments after the game on ESPN. Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson threw two touchdowns and ran for another. Nevertheless, the game came down to a big stop by the Clemson Tiger defense on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game. “It ain’t always perfect but what I told them tonight was listen we give you a scholarships, stipends and meals and a place to stay, we give you nice uniforms, I can’t give you guts and I can’t give you heart and tonight it was BYOG, Bring You Own Guts and they brought some guts and some heart and they never quit until the last play.” With the win, Clemson improves to 4-0 on the season. The Tigers are back in action on Saturday as they visit the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for a 3:30pm game.
