Traffic Enforcement at Fall Creek Landing #2 due to Reckless Driving Complaints Leads to Arrest

Last Friday, he Oconee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic enforcement operation in response to complaints of reckless driving and suspicious activity at Fall Creek Landing #2 near Salem.

During the operation, deputies received two calls reporting reckless driving before making any contact with those on the scene. Deputies said they saw numerous vehicles and a large fire ring in the parking lot, with some vehicles doing burnouts in the area.

Deputies also heard reportedly gunshots coming from the direction of the landing prior to their arrival. Deputies approached the landing with blue lights activated and made contact with several vehicles on Fall Creek Church Road, including two main suspect vehicles: a red Ford Mustang and a silver BMW.

Quavaico Terawan Gaines

The driver of the Mustang, 22-year-old Quavaico Terawan Gaines of Woodruff Road in Greenville, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including driving under suspension, reckless driving, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Gaines was released on bond the following day.

In addition, two Greenville County men in the silver BMW were issued tickets by deputies. One was charged with reckless driving and no proof of insurance, while the other was charged with simple possession of marijuana.
