Train derails in Seneca

A two-hour traffic backup Monday afternoon in Seneca is being blamed on a small freight train that derailed. It occurred shortly after 3pm near the Miracle Circle intersection. A representative with Norfolk Southern Railroad said that two wheels of the train left the track near West North 1st and Washington streets. The derailment set off a sensor causing traffic lights at the nearby intersection to flash. No one was injured in the train derailment.
