Trammell honored by induction into SHS HOF

During halftime of the varsity football game Friday night, Seneca High School inducted the seventh class of its Athletic Hall of Fame. The four-member class of 2015 consists of athletes Tim Blassingame and Austin Ernst and coaches Karen Edwards Trammell and Tommy Shaver. The evening started with a dinner for the inductees and their families. Then a community reception followed by induction during halftime. Karen Edwards Trammell shared these thoughts on being inducted. “It was a lot of fun and certainly a great honor for me and for my family and all the girls who played softball, basketball and golf under me. I mean it is like a cumulative award for kind of everybody that had a part in that, but Seneca High School did a great job in honoring the newest class of Hall of Fame inductees and certainly it was great night for me and my family.” Trammell coached 12 years at Seneca High School. Her teams won two state titles in softball. She also coached basketball and golf. Since stepping down from coaching, she has worked in the Guidance Office at the high school, currently serving as Guidance Director.
