Two Arrested In Georgia Possibly Connected to Townville Double Homicide

Two people recently arrested in Hart County, Georgia, may be linked to a double homicide in Townville. Leonard Piercefield and Payton Call were pulled over while driving a stolen car and while in possession of cocaine and a stolen gun on Sunday in Hart County, according to Hart County Sheriff, Mike Cleveland.

When Hart County deputies ran the serial number on the stolen gun, it showed a link to Saturday’s double homicide in Anderson County. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has turned the investigation over to SLED, because someone who may be involved in the case is related to an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

On Saturday, fire crews responded to a camper fire on Cedar Grove Road in Townville and found two people, Billy Ray Johnson and Amy Jo Lambert, dead inside; both shot multiple times.

No suspects have been named in the investigation, however, on Sunday, Anderson County deputies named McKenzie Maxine Carey as a person of interest in the case. Deputies said she was found Sunday evening, and said they also located a white work van belonging to one of the victims. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office at 864-260-4405.
