Two Attorneys Up for 10th Circuit Judgeship

Following recent hearings, attorneys David Brousseau and Heather Vry Scalzo have been nominated for a judgeship in the 10th Circuit of Oconee and Anderson counties. The seat is part of Anderson County.

A legislative vote in February will determine the successful candidate. Until the Judicial Merit Selection Commission issues its final report on January 16, both candidates are prohibited from seeking or accepting pledges.

Lauren Brown, spokesperson for the South Carolina Judicial Branch, assured that the 10th Judicial Circuit is functioning effectively despite the vacancy, with 85% of cases resolved within a year, surpassing the 80% benchmark.
