Two Oconee County Men Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Oconee County men early Friday morning on drug trafficking charges. 35 year old Ferrell Franklin Spivey of Seneca and 41 year old Douglas Chad Bryson, who has listed addresses in Walhalla and in Salem, have been charged with one count each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine while Spivey was also issued two traffic tickets, one for Driving under Suspension and for being a Habitual Traffic Offender.

Just before 1:00 am Friday a deputy executed a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Suburban towing a large trailer on Burns Mill Road and Crystal Falls Road near West Union. Spivey gave verbal consent for the vehicle to be searched. There were two other occupants in the vehicle, Bryson and another man.

While searching the vehicle, the deputy discovered a quantity of narcotics inside of the vehicle. Based upon their proximity to the location where the drugs were discovered in the vehicle, the deputy placed Spivey and Bryson under arrest. The third man was released from the scene.

According to jail records, the two men appear to have been released on bond.
