Two Women Arrested on Serious Charges

Makenna Leeanna Ryan, a 23-year-old woman from Tiger, GA, is currently detained on a $225,000 surety bond following her arrest over the weekend for charges related to Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Trafficking in Fentanyl, along with one count of Accessory after the Fact of a Felony. Ryan was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Saturday night after law enforcement responded to reports of an adult male accidentally shooting himself in the leg at an address near Seneca.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they observed Ryan attempting to leave in a vehicle at high speed. During a traffic stop, a handgun was discovered in Ryan’s vehicle, with additional evidence pointing to Sarah Margaret Whitten, 31, of Walhalla, who had placed contraband in Ryan’s vehicle.

Deputies recovered a bag containing approximately 234 grams of Methamphetamine and around 4 grams of Fentanyl. Whitten, charged as an accessory, is also in custody on a $25,000 surety bond.

The investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office remains ongoing.
