U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers Opens Selected Recreation Areas For Hunting Activities

(Seneca, SC)—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hartwell Lake Office will open four of its larger recreation areas for archery and small game hunting during the regular 2019-2020 Georgia hunting season. 

These areas include Paynes Creek Park, Hartwell Dam Quarry Area and the New Prospect Park in Hart County, GA and the Jenkins Ferry Park in Stephens County, GA.

In South Carolina and more specifically in Anderson and Oconee Counties, the areas in the Fant’s Grove Wildlife Management Area that are available for hunting in Anderson County are the South Carolina River, the Glenn Ferry Park, the Weldon Island Park, the Apple Island Park, the Townville Park, the River Forks Park and the Camp Creek Park. 

In Oconee County, the areas are Martin Creek Park and Choestoea Park.

According to a press release, hunting is prohibited in all designated recreation areas except those mentioned.
