U.S. Senator And Seneca Native Lindsey Graham Addresses Seneca Rotary Club

(Seneca, SC)———————U.S. Senator and Seneca native Lindsey Graham spoke at yesterday’s Seneca Rotary Club meeting at Cross Creek Plantation. During his remarks to the Rotarians, Graham said that he believes that there could be consensus on bipartisan legislation in Congress regarding a national infrastructure bill and on reducing the cost of prescription drugs and he said that he will be discussing these items, along with others, this weekend with President Trump. 

Before the meeting, Graham spoke with members of the media and talked about what he sees from his position as the senior Senator from South Carolina in regards to the Palmetto State and Oconee County currently. 

Graham talked about the quality of life and growth here locally and statewide and said that water, roads and sewer are important topics to those two aspects and that the raising the gas taxes by the South Carolina Legislature made sense to him. Graham said that roads and bridges in the state are in disrepair and that infrastructure needs to be improved because South Carolina is growing quickly. 

Graham said that there is $138 million dollars in the budget for the Port of Charleston and that 1 in 7 or 8 jobs in South Carolina is directly related to the Port and that is important to Oconee County. Graham said that the Golden Corner is a manufacturing hub between Atlanta and Charleston in the middle of the I-85 corridor, that the educational system here is great, that what attracts business here is good quality employees and also that local government is business friendly.
