Students in Oconee County go back to school on Aug. 18 and in preparation of the big day, the United Way of Oconee County is holding a Back to School Drive. Now through Aug. 12, the United Way is accepting donations of school supplies. On Aug. 13, from 9am to 3pm, the United Way holds their Day of Distribution. Sponsors of this year’s event include the Clemson University Freshman Class Orientation Program, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Duke Energy Retirees, St. John Lutheran Church and St. Mark Methodist Church. The community can donate to the United Way of Oconee County’s Back to School Drive at 409 East North 1st Street in Seneca.
