US Forest Service mourns loss of NC Officer

The U.S. Forest Service is mourning the loss of 38-year-old Jason Crisp, a law enforcement officer on the Grandfather Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest. Crisp is survived by his wife and two children. Crisp and his K-9 partner Maros were killed in the line of duty in Burke County, N.C. Crisp, who began his career on the Grandfather Ranger District as a timber marker, graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in 2005. The details surrounding Crisp’s death are still under investigation.
