Volunteers needed for Triathlon in Clemson

Last year, over 1,250 collegiate men and women took part in the 2015 USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships in Clemson. USA Triathlon calls Clemson home again April 22-23. This year, more than 120 collegiate clubs from across the United States are expected to compete in three events over two days. Volunteers are needed to help with this huge event, explains Jamie Cathey, program director with the City of Clemson Parks and Recreation Department. “We need volunteers and you can go to the USA Triathlon website to get the volunteer page and it’s on the City of Clemson’s website as well. We need over 600 volunteers. I also encourage people to come see what it is all about; these kids work hard to get here. The collegiate triathlon atmosphere is awesome; they come in costume, they cheer each other on and there are some great rivalries.” In addition to the individual and team champions, the first collegiate para-triathlete champions compete in Clemson this year.
