Voters urged to register for June 10 Primaries

South Carolina residents still have time to register to vote in the upcoming June 10 primaries.  In May, state and local voter registration and elections officials will be drawing attention to the effort to increase registration and to educate voters on candidates. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has declared May as Voter Education Month. South Carolina started online voter registration in 2012.  Anyone eligible with a driver’s license or DMV I-D card can register at www.scvotes.org.  On the website, voters can also access their personal sample ballot showing the specific offices and candidates, along with any questions. Officials remind voters that the new photo ID rules are in effect for the upcoming elections.
