Walhalla American Legion Post 124 breaks Ground

The Walhalla American Legion recently held a ground breaking ceremony at the site of the new post home at 225 Kenneth Street in Walhalla. On a rainy Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30, a crowd of over 100 legionaires and guests were on hand for the event. Post spokesman Jerry Dyar said, “Our post already has a set of plans for the building designed by McKibben Archetects of Seneca and we’re finalizing our site engineering plans to be submitted to the local county Building Code Department for its review. We hope to begin setting the foundation late this month”. The post meets for its monthly dinner on the second Monday of each month at 6pm at the current post location on North Church Street in Walhalla. All veterans who served on active duty during a time the United States was at war are eligible for membership in Post 124.
