Walhalla’s Mayfest Art of Living is this weekend, May 15-6. The free event features art, craft and food vendors lining Main Street. New to the festival this year will be the Mayfest Classic Car Show and the Shaggin’ in the Park event on Friday, May 15 from 5pm to 9pm at Kaufman Park. Owners of classic cars are invited to register for “Best in Show” or “People’s Choice” awards. Cost to register is $10 per entry. At the same time, The Dave Tilley Project will be playing beach and golden oldies while Shaggers dance under the pavilion at the park. Meat’n in the Middle food truck and Steph’s Steaks among others will be there with plenty of food and drink choices. On Saturday, May 16, the festival begins at 9am with the second annual Parade of Bikes on South Catherine Street. Kids in grades K-4 get the chance to ride with a cop, learn bike safety and win prizes. Riders meet in the City Parking Lot to begin the parade. Live music on Main Street starts at 11:30am with Conservation Theory, followed by Confederate Attitude and concluding with Adam Carter. Rick and Joanne with RJ Live Sounds will provide music throughout the festival.
