Walhalla City Council Meeting Highlights

At the regular meeting of the Walhalla City Council on April 16th, Mayor Tim Hall declared May 5-11 as Small Business Week, May 15 as Peace Officers Day, and April 22 as Earth Day.

The Council received a clean audit report for FY23 from McKinley, Cooper & Co., LLC, and an overview of the past 20 years’ water infrastructure projects from Councilman Keith Pace. Presentations were also made by Enterprise Fleet Management and the Main Street Walhalla Board.

The Council approved the 2nd reading of Ordinance 2024-07, allowing potential customers to connect to the water system via a recorded easement. They accepted HDH Construction’s bid for sidewalk repairs and upgrades and approved a budget transfer to hire three full-time firefighters.

Following an executive session, the Council decided to alter its memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Main Street SC, effective June 30. Mayor Hall clarified that this does not end their relationship with Main Street Walhalla and reaffirmed their commitment to economic development and moving Walhalla forward.
