Walhalla Man arrested for larceny at Seneca McDonald’s

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Walhalla man on petit larceny charges in relation to an incident that occurred at McDonald’s in Seneca on Sept. 30. 28-year-old Justin Marshall Gunn of 105 Boondock Drive was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center after being arrested in the parking lot of the Ingles’ in West Union. A deputy arrived on the scene at the McDonald’s on Sandifer Boulevard just after 10am on Sept. 30 in regards to reports of a stolen pocket book. The deputy spoke to the complainant, who said she ordered breakfast at the counter. After her order was filled, the complainant sat down at a booth close to the exit on the side of the building closest to Radio Station Road. The complainant told the deputy that she went back to the counter because her order was incorrectly prepared and left her purse in the booth. When she returned, she noticed her purse was missing, which was around 9:45am. After speaking with management, the deputy was told that a store video showed a white male; later identified as Gunn, place an order at the counter. Gunn then proceeded over to the area where the complainant was sitting when the complainant returned to the counter to have her order corrected. The video then showed Gunn take the purse and exit the store and leave in a mid-2000’s white Dodge or Chrysler Caravan. The video was seen by the deputy, which corroborated what he was told by management. Deputies obtained an arrest warrant against Gunn on Oct. 3 charging him with taking the purse, which contained a pink wallet with $180 in cash, credit cards, and a cell phone. No items from the purse have been recovered, according to deputies. Gunn was also accompanied by a white female with blond hair in a picture released by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office from the security cameras at the store. No criminal charges will be filed in the case against the female, according to deputies.
