Walhalla Residents Don’t Want Chain Stores Downtown

Walhalla City Administrator Brent Taylor said that concerns over the possibility of major retailers downtown, like Dollar General, were raised at last night’s city council meeting in Walhalla.

Several residents expressed their dismay at the idea of a Dollar General in the historic downtown area.

Some Walhalla residents see the trend of independently owned and operated stores as the way to revitalize to core commercial district within the city limits of Walhalla.
