Water Main Break in Six Mile Area: Urgent Call for Conservation and Impact on Local Schools

A water main break near the Adkins Water Treatment facility in the Six Mile area has led to a reduction in water capacity and potential service interruptions for Greenville Water customers. The break, which occurred late Thursday night into Friday morning, is currently being addressed by crews who have been working continuously on the repairs for four days.

As a result of the break, officials from Greenville Water have issued a call for customers to voluntarily reduce their water usage until further notice. They assure that crews are diligently working to rectify the issue and anticipate that the repairs will be completed within the next 72 hours.

In response to the water main break, several schools in Pickens County have transitioned to e-learning on Monday, with plans to continue this mode of instruction on Tuesday. For any queries, customers are encouraged to contact Greenville Water at 864-241-6000.
