Wells Fargo gives $500,000 to CU Programs

Wells Fargo has given $500,000 to Clemson University to support two programs aimed at improving educational opportunities for underrepresented populations: Call Me MISTER and Emerging Scholars. Call Me MISTER began in 2000 with the goal of placing more African-American males in elementary school classrooms as teachers. Emerging Scholars began in 2002 with the mission of enhancing South Carolina’s economic prosperity by increasing the number of college graduates who come from economically disadvantaged areas and first-generation families. Since 2006, Wells Fargo has given $1.71 million to support Call Me MISTER and Emerging Scholars. Wells Fargo’s gift is part of The Will to Lead, a $1 billion capital campaign to support Clemson University students and faculty with scholarships, professorships, facilities, technology and enhanced opportunities for learning and research.
