West-Oak Football Coach Resigns

WGOG reports that West-Oak High School head football Coach Jay Brannon has resigned.  Earnestine Williams, Director of Human Resources for the School District of Oconee County confirmed the resignation.  In late October, Brannon’s West-Oak Warriors completed an 0-10 season.  He is expected to remain a teacher at West-Oak High School.  Brannon was the seventh head coach in the school’s history, which dates to the 1982 season, with the consolidation of the high schools in Westminster and Oakway.  Brannon finishes his five year stint as varsity head football coach at West-Oak High Schoolwith a 16-35 record.
