West-Oak Student trying to play Saxophone in NY

An effort is underway to raise money to send a West-Oak High School band member to New York City for a chance to perform at Carnegie Hall. Roman Holder, a West-Oak sophomore, is part of the Carolina Youth Symphony and has the chance to play the saxophone there in March. The community can help by attending a music fundraising event for Roman’s trip as well as the West-Oak High School band program. The band, along with Dixie Keys, performs at 7pm on Friday, Jan. 22 at the Westminster Music Hall. Tickets are just $10.
