West Union Man Charged with Arson; Spartanburg Man Arrested Locally on Drugs & Weapons Charges

A 31-year-old man from West Union, identified as Brandon Kyle Stancil, was apprehended on Saturday and faces charges of second-degree arson. The incident occurred at a residence located on Burns Mill Road.

The Oconee Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant accusing Stancil of igniting a residential structure. An incident report from the sheriff’s office reveals that two officers were dispatched to the scene at 830 N. Burns Mill Road early on Saturday, where they conferred with the fire command. Stancil remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center, and his bail has been set at $15,000.

Kolarb Bounlort

In an unrelated arrest, on Sunday, 54-year-old Kolar Bounlort of Spartanburg was charged by Walhalla Police with trafficking in meth or cocaine base, 28g or more but less than 100g, a first offense; possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon; and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The total bond amount for all charges is $60,000, and he will be required to wear an electronic monitor should he be released from jail.
