Westminster City Council Meeting This Evening

The City of Westminster is holding a regularly scheduled meeting at 6:00 PM this evening at the Westminster Fire Department.

The agenda includes consideration of a Hospitality Tax Grant request from the Oconee History Museum and related appropriations, as well as the second reading of the Budget Ordinance for FY2023-2024, which sets the annual budget at a net appropriation of $27,070,745. There will also be consideration of the second reading of an ordinance to execute a real property sale and purchase agreement for a parcel located at 115 Riley Street to Westminster Hope ComeUnity for $10,000.

New business includes consideration of the first reading of an ordinance amending the City Code regarding annexation of properties outside the city as a condition for providing certain utility services. There will also be a presentation of a schedule for Planning Commission and City Council considerations of edits and adoption of zoning ordinances, bylaws, future land use map amendments, and land development regulations.

The council will also consider canceling the July 11, 2023 meeting and awarding a bid for a 2023 Kawasaki Mule side by side for the Westminster Fire Department.

An executive session will be held for discussion of negotiations incident to proposed contractual arrangements and proposed sale or purchase of property, including contractual agreements between the City of Westminster and Oconee County regarding fire service and possible contractual agreements with Blue Ridge Electric Coop.
