Westminster City Councl Meeting Tonight

Tonight, Westminster City Council will conduct a public hearing for its fiscal year 2024-25 budget prior to a first reading vote. The proposed budget delineates allocations across various funds: General ($2,699,287), Utility ($8,727,420), Solid Waste ($588,791), Accommodations Tax (ATAX, $12,500), Hospitality Tax (HTAX, $202,000), Fire Department 1 percent ($86,150), Local Development Corp. ($53,780), Youth Recreation ($554,900), and Capital Projects ($28,453,480), with the new fiscal year commencing on July 1.

Additionally, council will vote on an equipment lease-purchase agreement not exceeding $360,000 with First Citizens Bank and Trust Company for five vehicles, including police and fire vehicles, a pickup for the water department, and a valve maintenance skid. Other agenda items include a second reading on an agreement with Mammoth Sports Construction, LLC, for a recreation complex design, pre-construction services, and a rezoning request for 101 John Street.

Furthermore, council will reconsider a resolution to adopt the Westminster Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Control Program and address matters related to councilmember benefits and audit service bids.
