Westminster Library writing Letters to Troops

As part of the Oconee County Public Library’s summer reading program, entitled “Every Hero Has a Story”, the Westminster Library is setting aside a day for people to show their support of our everyday military heroes by writing a letter, drawing a picture or making a card that will be collected and sent to troops. “Writing a letter is a meaningful way for Americans to show support for our military. Something that only takes a few minutes can have a lasting impact on a soldier who is away from home. A few friendly words can bring hope, encouragement, and reminders of home while they are away for months,” said Westminster Librarian Leah Price. Those who wish to participate in Operation Gratitude may stop by the Westminster Library anytime between 10am and 5pm on Thursday, July 2 to write a letter. Everything you need will be supplied. Those who cannot attend the event may drop off letters and cards, no sealed envelopes, to the Westminster Library any time before Thursday, July 2.
