Westminster Man arrested for receiving Stolen Goods

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man over the Labor Day weekend on charges of receiving stolen goods. A deputy responded to an address on West-Oak Highway Monday afternoon in reference to a suspicious trailer and lawn mower that was left on someone’s property. Returning to the property, 34-year-old William Justin Holliday of Westminster told the deputy that he had traded for the mower with an individual from Pickens County. During the investigation, the deputy was notified that the mower had been reported stolen. Holliday was then placed under arrest. In an arrest warrant, Holliday is accused of possessing a Hustler Raptor 52” Zero Turn Riding Lawn Mower and a utility trailer knowing at the time that the property was stolen. The estimated value of the property is around $4,000. In addition, Holliday had an outstanding Magistrate’s bench warrant and was issued a traffic ticket for driving under suspension as part of his arrest.
