Westminster Man arrested on Grand Larceny Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man this week on second-degree burglary and grand larceny charges relating to an incident that occurred in May. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details. “21-year-old William Kyle Craig was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center after deputies arrested him at his residence after receiving a tip that Craig was in his front yard and deputies found him there. According to investigators, Craig is accused in warrants obtained on June 3 of breaking into a building belonging to a business at an address on Dr. Johns Road sometime between 5:30pm on May 26 and 8:30am on May 27 and making off with several tools, a dirt bike, and a generator. Deputies were first notified of the burglary on May 27 as they were dispatched to the scene around 8:33am that morning. The value of the items taken is less than $10,000.” The magistrate judge set Craig’s bond at $15,000.
