Westminster Man arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man Thursday on multiple drug charges. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details. “38-year-old Steve Michael Ramey of 311 Bruce Road was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center. According to warrants, an undercover operative working at the direction of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office made a purchase of a quantity of methamphetamine from Ramey at the Bruce Road address on Nov. 21 and Nov. 24. Agents and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the Bruce Road address along with serving the arrest warrants on Ramey. During the execution of the search warrant, deputies discovered a quantity of methamphetamine as well as a quantity of a controlled substance, believed to be Xanax. Ramey was transported to the Oconee County on the two arrest warrants as well as a temporary custody order for pending warrants on charges of possession with intent to distribute meth and possession of a controlled substance.” The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
